We know getting to and from your classes and around the Hamilton area can be challenging. The MSA PRESTO Bus Pass is the solution you can count on!

All full-time students at Mohawk College receive a bus pass from the MSA for the Hamilton Street Railway (HSR). This pass comes in the form of a PRESTO card. The pass is valid for each semester you are enrolled and allows you to ride the HSR anywhere and anytime throughout the city.  

Valid HSR U-Pass Dates for Each Semester: 

Spring/Summer: May 1 – August 31  

Fall: September 1 – December 31  

Winter: January 1 – April 30

Accessing and Activating Your Presto Card 

To get set up, click the option that applies to you!

Q: “I’m having trouble setting up my card. Can someone help me?”

A: Yes, click the chat with us button. We’re happy to help!

Q: “I deleted the email with the code, what do I do?” 

 

A: Log into your MyMohawk account. Select the ‘Campus Life’ tab! 

Q: “I already have a PRESTO card, do I need to come to pick up a new one?” 

 

A: Nope! Visit ‘I Have a PRESTO Card’ to get started.

To replace a lost, stolen or damaged card, visit the closest Customer Service Outlet near you to purchase a replacement: ​​ 

  • Shoppers Drug Mart 

  • Fortinos 

  • GO Station 

  • MSA Front Desk *If on Campus*

​Do not register your new PRESTO card online or add a transit pass. 

​Once your card has been replaced, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your account at and click on 'Manage' and then 'Report Lost Card'.​

  2. Select the lost or stolen card to block and transfer the balance/account details. 

  3. Under 'Transfer the balance of my lost/stolen/damaged care to' select 'a new card purchased'. Click 'Next' and follow the prompts. 

  4. ​Wait 24 hours, and then tap your PRESTO card on a device to complete the transfer process.
