What's Changing?
If you have any remaining eligible claims for the 2022-2023 policy year (Sept. 1, 2022 to Aug. 31, 2023), please submit them to Sun Life ASAP as the Plan insurer is changing Sept. 1, 2023.
Starting Sept. 1, 2023:
- New Insurer: Securian Canada
- New Group Number/Prefix for health & dental claims: MHK
- New Member ID: MHK + Your Student ID (9 digits)
- New Pay-Direct student format: MHK + Your Student ID + 00
- Pay-direct system provider: GreenShield system
- Make sure to update this information at your pharmacy and/or eligible provider clinics for Sept. 1, 2023.
Important Note: The Studentcare mobile app will no longer be available as of Sept. 1, 2023. Please make sure to save any important information (e.g. sent claims history) currently stored there, as you’ll no longer be able to access it on the app.

Dialogue provides Mohawk students with unlimited 24/7 access to licensed health experts, including doctors, nurses, and care coordinators – brought to you by Studentcare. You can access Dialogue via web browser or the mobile app (available to Apple and Android users).
Through Dialogue, you have access to:
- 24/7 bilingual care available across all provinces.
- Fast access to medical professionals via chat, video, or phone.
- Real-time video consultations with licensed doctors, nurses, and multidisciplinary team.
- Referrals and requisitions with specialists and labs.
- Free delivery of prescriptions to a nearby Rexall (where available in certain provinces), another local pharmacy, or your door.

Health & Dental Insurance FAQ
To learn more about the benefits of the Studentcare Health and Dental Insurance plan , and exactly what’s covered, visit the Studentcare Office located in the Student Centre (G110) at Mohawk’s Fennell Campus (currently not available due to COVID-19 restrictions), or visit the Studentcare website.
All full-time Mohawk College and co-op students are automatically covered by the MSA Health & Dental Plan. Certain exceptions do exist. To confirm whether you’ve been charged for the plan, check your student account.
Part-time students may also be eligible to enroll in the plan. Visit your campuses MSA Office to inquire or send an e-mail to MSAReception@mohawkcollege.ca.
If you are covered by another extended health and dental plan (i.e., a parent’s or spouse’s employee plan that is not OHIP), you can combine both plans to maximize your overall coverage and reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket costs. Alternatively, if you have other equivalent coverage, you can opt-out of the Studentcare plan during the change-of-coverage period and you will receive a credit to your student account.
If you are eligible, the change-of-coverage period is also when you can enroll yourself, your spouse, and/or your dependent children in the plan.

Thursday September 7, 2023 to Friday September 29, 2023.
First day of class until last Friday of September. - Winter semester
Monday January 8, 2024 to Friday January 19, 2024
First day of class, until Friday, the week of the add/drop deadline. - Summer semester
Summer: Monday May 6, 2024 to Tuesday May 21, 2024
First day of class until same day, two weeks+1 day later (due to Victoria Day Holiday).
