The month of June means so much more than the beginning of summer! It’s a combination of events celebrating multi-culturalism, Indigenous history, and 2SLGBTQI+ Pride that together add colour to the canvas of Canada.
June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, a time to honour the Indigenous People who live here, their stories, achievements and resilience. Indigenous Student Services invites you to celebrate at Mohawk College with an Afternoon with Auntie on June 7. Chelazon Leroux (she/he/they) appeared on the third season of Canada’s Drag Race and is best known for her Auntie Persona on TikTok.
Or, you can join the Branches of Native Development in Battlefield Park on June 24 for traditional Indigenous singers, music, and dancing.
