Tik Tok Principles and Guidelines
Tik Tok Principles:
Tik Tok Explained:
-
Tik Tok is a free social media app that allows users to share 15 to 60-second videos.
-
Videos can be shot, edited, and uploaded right from the app itself.
-
Users can improve their videos with special effects, music, filters, and animations, etc.
-
The app is available to both IOS and Android users.
-
Once a video is shared to the platform, users have the option to ‘Like’, ‘Comment’, and/or ‘Share’ it.
-
At the bottom of the app there is a menu bar that features a ‘Home’ tab where all Tik Toks show up, a ‘Discover’ tab where users can sure for people, hashtags, and see what’s trending, a ‘+’ tab where users can create and upload their own Tik Toks, an ‘Inbox’ tab, and a ‘Me’ tab which is their personal profile.
The Tik Toks that show up on someone’s ‘Home’ tab are filtered based on what is trending and the other types of Tik Toks the user watches. If someone were to watch one type of video, their home page would start to show more of these videos. On the other hand, if someone were to scroll past a certain type of video, these types of videos would stop showing up on their home page.
MSA Tik Tok Guidelines:
-
When creating Tik Toks MSA employees are encouraged to tap into what’s trending, however, the Association’s Brand Standards must still be followed.
-
The MSA Tik Tok account should not be used to promote the personal content of an employee.
-
Avoid profanity and any other content that may be deemed inappropriate.
-
When a Board Member creates a Tik Tok, they must save it as a ‘Draft’ as opposed to selecting ‘Post’.
-
All Tik Toks must be approved by the MSA Marketing Team.
-
The MSA Marketing Team will be responsible for publishing and sharing all Tik Toks.
