It’s that time of year again … back to school season. The format of the Fall 2020 semester at Mohawk College may not be what you’re used to, or what you were expecting, but whether you’re a new or returning student there is still a lot to look forward to (regardless of where you’re studying – in-person and online, fully online, in Hamilton, etc.).
There is a lot (virtually) happening this month!
Here’s what’s (virtually) happening this semester.
MSA Events:
If you attended some of the MSA events that took place over the summer then you’ll know that they are just as fun and exciting as the in-person events we once used to have (a time that seems so long ago). The MSA Events team has worked throughout the summer to organize and plan events for the Fall semester.
Here are all the virtual events happening this month.
Spice Up Your Life with Celebrity Chef, Bal Arneson: Sept. 9 (yes, it’s happening today)
Mohawk Students Pre-Concert Hangout: Sept. 10
Campus Kick-Off Concert: Sept. 10
MSA Week: MSA Web Scavenger Hunt: Sept. 14
How To: Craft a Pour-Over Coffee: Sept. 14
FREE DAPS: Interactive Virtual Freestyle Rap Concert: Sept. 16
How To: Create a Simple Budget + Saving Tips: Sept. 21
Listen & Engage: MSA Speaker Series – ft. Sandy Hudson and Host, Nova Nicole: Sept. 22
How To: Stretch: Sept. 28
Jeopardy: Pop Culture Edition: Sept. 29
Visit the events page on the MSA website for more details about each event!
MSA Week:
From Sept. 14 – Sept. 18 you can learn everything there is to know about the MSA: from services, to events, and everything in between! This is a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the association, and familiarize yourself with the 2020/2021 Board of Directors and some of the MSA staff.
You’ll even have a chance to win some incredible prizes.
MSA Week will be happening across our social media pages, so keep your eyes on our social media pages (@MSAMohawk) for more information.
Online Ordering:
The Cellar restaurant and Booster Juice at Mohawk’s Fennell campus will remain closed for the time being.
However, students can order online from the Urban Fork and Pizza Pizza through the MSA’s new online ordering system. All you have to do is place your order online and pick up your food at the Urban Fork at the Fennell campus. Most items are less than $5!
Online ordering will be available from 8:00 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday – Friday.
Brewed Awakenings, also at the Fennell campus, will be open from Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., for coffee and grab-and-go items.
Brewed Awakenings will be open for coffee!
To stay updated on all things food and beverage-related, follow @msatastes on Facebook and Instagram.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the new semester do not hesitate to reach out to the MSA. Despite not being on campus, we are still here for Mohawk students. Meet us virtually!
What are you most looking forward to this semester?
